Hidaya Trust respects your privacy when you visit our website, and we appreciate your trust that we will do so diligently and carefully. This notice of HIDAYA’s privacy policy is intended to help you understand our online information security practices. It covers the information we collect when you are on our website; it will also help you understand what we do with the data collected on our website and provides you with an option to opt out, should you decide to do so. By visiting our website, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Notice.

 

What information Hidaya Trust collects and how it is used?

 

When you are simply visiting or browsing our website, we do not collect your personally identifiable information. We are able to trace and recognize your Internet Service Provider and the domain name or IP address of the computer from where you are connected. We use this information to count the total number of visitors to our site to measure and track the traffic on our website. The process does not collect information on individual users; we are unable to recognize your personal data - such as names, addresses, e-mail addresses, contact information, or credit card information. You are not required to provide any personal information when you visit our website unless you voluntarily choose to do so.

 

When you submit an online form or make an online donation (if applicable), we do gather personal contact information such as your name, postal address, e-mail address and phone number. If you are donating online, we also gather information to securely process your donations like program designations against which you want to donate, donation amount, IP address of the computer connected from, date and time of donation; credit card number, type and expiration date in case of credit card transactions; bank name, account number and routing number for check transactions. We do not store the full credit card or bank account number in our database, only the first and last few digits.

 

The primary use of the above information is for processing of your donation securely. We use the postal address and e-mail information to send our communications via snail mail and e-mail to you.

 

Does Hidaya Trust share the information it receives?

 

We do not share your information with any external individuals, organizations or third parties. There are two exceptions to this rule; we will only share your personally identifiable information with third parties when either ou authorize us to share it or we are required to by law to do so, such as subpoenas and court orders.

 

 

Can children use Hidaya Trust website?

 

We encourage children to browse through our website and learn about different projects to help increase their awareness of the need to support the poor and in need. We do not knowingly solicit data from children, nor do we knowingly market to children.

 

How secure is information about me?

 

Our website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control, and of course, we do not sell, rent, loan, or share any identifiable information regarding our donors with any third party. All online donations made through our website are transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption, which is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information, since no transaction over the Internet is 100% safe. Once we receive your transmission, we use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure its security on our systems, and to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information that we have collected. We do not store your credit card or bank information in our databases.

 

When the secure encryption is being used, such as when you are entering credit card information for online donation, you will be able to see the secure symbol at the bottom of your browser screen - in the shape of a lock or a key. Additionally, all of the transactional data we collect from users is protected against unauthorized access with the use of digital certificates. Our digital certificate use RSA (1024 bits) based encryption mechanism and is issued by XRamp. You may click on the XRamp seal on our website to verify the authenticity of our digital certificate.

 

Does Hidaya Trust use cookies?

 

Cookies are small files placed on your computer by a web server that are used by your browser. A cookie cannot read data off of your computer hard disk, nor can it read cookie files created by other websites. At this time, we does not utilize the use of cookies on any part of our website.

 

How do I opt out?

Anti-Discrimination Policy

 

Hidaya Trust makes sure all its cash and in-kind donations are distributed in accordance with international laws. Hidaya Trust does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious affiliation, sex, age, physical appearance, country of origin, language or educational background.

 

Hidaya Trust does not indulge in any kind of lobbying or other political activities and does not have any intention of doing so in the future. There is no budget for such activities per its charter. Hidaya Trust does not use its funds for purposes of religious proselytizing in any way. Exposure or adherence to the organization's religious doctrine is not required of the beneficiaries. Hidaya Trust tries to use all funds precisely as specified by donors to the best of its ability. However, under unexpected circumstances, Hidaya Trust reserves the right to channel funds elsewhere.

 

Conditions of use, notices, and revisions

 

We reserve the right to change or revise this policy whenever deemed necessary without prior notification. Should changes be made, they will be posted on this Privacy Notice with the date of revision. All changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Since this privacy policy may change from time to time, you should check back periodically so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of this information by us as outlined herein.

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

The sister organization of Hidaya Trust, Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts of both the organizations during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. It was awarded during a special ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC.
