Real Life Story of Abdul Rehman

 

Abdul Rehman is a 25 year old man who obtained a Software Engineering degree in 2006.  Abdul Rehman is the eldest of three children. He came from a underprivileged family. His father, who is a shopkeeper, was barely able to afford Abdul Rehman’s education expenses.

It was an extremely hard time for Abdul Rehman who was married with one child.  After obtaining a Software Engineering degree, Abdul Rehman was not able to find a job in his field due to a lack of work experience.  After three years of job hunting, he saw an ad of Hidaya’s Internship Program under our Career Development project. He applied for the internship program and was accepted.

After eight weeks of attending the internship program, he improved his software Development skills to a level where he landed software developer position at a Government department. He was selected for the position with the reasonable salary.  He was thankful to Hidaya’s Career Development Internship Program, as it had enhanced his skill level as well as his confidence in the field of software development.

 

Sitara-e-Isaar Awarded to Hidaya Foundation

The sister organization of Hidaya Trust, Hidaya Foundation was awarded Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) by the Government of Pakistan, in recognition of the results-oriented relief efforts of both the organizations during the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. It was awarded during a special ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, DC.
